# POL Burning Event

Half of all tokens will burn

In this section, we will record the monthly POL burns by sending them to address zero. According to the [Polars business model](/polars-public/business-model-1/business-model.md), part of the generated commissions will be used to buy POL tokens from the free market and burned forever.
